If you’ve been convicted of an OUI or DUII (drunk driving offense) in Oregon, you will have to complete the state-mandated process before regaining driving privileges. That process may include:
- Alcohol Screening
- Treatment
- SR-22 Insurance
- Hardship Permit
- Ignition Interlock Device
You will receive your notice of license suspension or revocation in the mail and should call the Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) to check your eligibility for license reinstatement.
Before receiving your hardship permit that will allow you to drive, you will need to pay all fines and fees, including a reinstatement fee.
Ignition interlock devices in Oregon
The state of Oregon requires all drunk driving offenders, even first time offenders, to install an ignition interlock device following a conviction. Ignition interlock devices are provided by state certified vendors.
Find an Oregon ignition interlock device (car breathalyzer, IID) installation location and schedule your installation at a state certified location near your home or work.
